Rihanna Hits the Town in London

She’s always been a bit of a workaholic, and Rihanna was spotted handling some affairs in London, England this evening (February 23).

The “Russian Roulette” songstress looked cute and casual in a black sweatshirt with distressed jeans and tan work boots as she exited an office building.

As for the new collaborations with Chris Brown, it seems the whole thing was initiated by Ri-Ri and there could be more to come.

Producer The-Dream told press, “It was Ri’s idea. Not only do we work together, but [Rihanna] is a friend of mine. And it’s like, ‘You wanna do something? Then cool, let’s do it.’ ”
“For me, it’s just music — two talented people doing a record together, doing two records together, and that’s what it was. It wasn’t about an incident that happened. The true thing really is to forgive, and ... you want to believe in people.”

Rihanna to fans, critics: no regrets !

Rihanna has no regrets following her now controversial decision to collaborate with Chris Brown on two songs, released last week. Telling fans "no regrets," in a series of social media messages Saturday, Rihanna claims there is "no sense in becoming burdened".
"Regret is ruining the lives of countless people by stealing their joy! #NOREGRETS Sure u wish u did some things differently, but no sense in becoming burdened with regret over things u have no power to change #NOREGRETS," Rihanna wrote on Twitter.
As reported last week, Rihanna joined Chris Brown on a remix to his single "Turn Up The Music" and he joined her on the remix to her single, "Birthday Cake". Following criticism over the single, Chris Brown slammed critics saying they have no right to judge him and Rihanna.

"You are not Gods to judge us," said Brown.

For the first time since the release of both songs, it seems Rihanna is feeling the pressure of fans and critics but claims after asking God forgiveness, you "leave your regrets in the past".

"Ask God for forgiveness, and leave your regrets in the past! #NOREGRETS," said Rihanna.

In related news, Rihanna has begun working on her Sky Living show, slated to air in the UK. Over the weekend she confirmed that work had begun, telling a fan "exec producing a tv show today in London". Hosted by Nicola Roberts the fashion based show will focus on finding a top designer.

Rihanna draws criticism for songs with Brown

Rihanna is known for making bold statements, from her often sexually charged music to her tattoos to even the hue of her hair.

But her latest decision - a musical pairing with the man who three years ago left her bloodied and bruised - has left some questioning her judgment.

On Monday, after days of teasing, Rihanna and Chris Brown debuted two songs featuring each other. Brown sings and raps on the remix of Rihanna's sexually charged song "Birthday Cake," and she appears on a new version of his upbeat tune "Turn up the Music."
Fans have been split about the topic: Some support Rihanna and Brown's collaborations, others condemn it. The topic was still trending on Twitter on late Tuesday, with plenty of tweets criticizing Rihanna for embracing her former abuser.

Rihanna seemed to address the controversy Tuesday when she won best international female artist at the Brit Awards.

"At times when I feel misunderstood, my fans always remind me that it's OK to be myself," Rihanna said.

But Bill Werde, editorial director of the music trade publication Billboard, says Rihanna's decision to make music with Brown could disappoint some of her supporters.

"I think there are people out there that feel betrayed (by) Rihanna," he said. "She has every right to be an individual ... she has every right to date who she wants to date and be with whoever she wants to be with. She's a grown woman.

Rihanna backlash should focus on Chris Brown

On the eve of the Grammys in 2009, when news surfaced that singer Chris Brown assaulted his girlfriend, Rihanna, the cruel reality of violence against women came to the forefront. Police reports, narrative accounts and photographs told a chilling tale of what happened that night.

In the ensuing months, Rihanna's responses to the violence she received faced public scrutiny. Everyone hoped that she would do what most of us believed was the right thing to do: Leave the relationship. When she did eventually leave, there was a collective admiration for her ability to move on, which sent a clear message that violence against women is wrong.
She was lauded as a role model to women and young girls, and became a celebrity symbol of strength and survivorship.

Rihanna is collaborating with Brown again. Some people are mad and disapprove of her decision to let Brown back into her life, especially given the "role model" status that had been assigned to her. Personally, I am not outraged. Before you think I'm a fan of Brown (I'm not), here's my rationale: Rihanna did not ask to be a role model, no more than she asked to be abused.

In the United States, one in three women experiences violence. Rihanna is unfortunately one of these women. Like other abused women, she is being judged unfairly for her relationship with her abusive former partner.

One of the first things people ask after learning that a woman has been abused is, "Why don't you just leave?" While this is a seemingly innocuous suggestion, it really isn't that simple. When a woman leaves and then returns to her partner or tries to stay on amicable terms, she can elicit a backlash. No wonder some people have commented that Rihanna must "enjoy being abused."

I don't know anyone who enjoys being abused. What I do know is that domestic violence is a vicious cycle. Leaving an abusive partner is a process that can take months, if not years. One woman I know stayed in her relationship for almost 25 years before she was able to finally leave.

Moreover, most women leave their partners more than once. Studies have indicated that a woman leaves her abuser an average of eight times before leaving permanently. We cannot be certain, but it is possible that Rihanna is still in the process of leaving. Thus, the fact that she and Brown are working together now after the incident of three years ago is not surprising

Rihanna Checks Out in London

Ready to see where the day takes her, Rihanna and her entourage were spotted checking out of a London, England hotel early this morning (February 18).

Echoing the 80s with her rockin' ensemble, the "Talk That Talk" hitmaker donned a backwards ball cap, over-sized black leather jacket, midriff-baring t-shirt and black and white print pants as she went on her way.

And it looks like RiRi's clothing choices aren't the only thing that has people talking - as reports claim the singer has tapped ex-boyfriend Chris Brown for an extended version of "Birthday Cake."
Rihanna and Brown allegedly met up in the recording studio to work on the track together. The rumored collaboration coems just three years after Brown was charged with assualting the star on the even of the Grammy Awards.

Top Headband Trends for 2012

Top Headband Trends for 2012 Headbands are certainly making their place in 2012. Whether it's through thrifting, trading, grabbing or ground shipping you should do whatever it takes to jump on the band-wagon and enjoy this trend.

Chunky Braid

Extremely comfortable, this easy style is a simple way to wear a headband. These bands can double as ear warmers; a great way to stay fashionable in cold weather. They will also stay in place, no worries about bobby pins or this band falling off – a great choice if you're planning to be active!

Giant Flowers

There's no need to wait four months for spring to come. You can bring it straight into your day with a number of blossom bound bands. Your flowers don't actually have to be big, but with the current trends you can certainly get away with it.

Head Wrap

A great shot at boho style, these head wraps are more versatile than they seem. When styling, think hippie or 1950's pin-up. Not many items can do both, but these little gems have a lot of character. Wear your hair down or use the wrap to pull it into a low bun.

Multi-loop Headband

This type of headband is extremely easy to wear. It will go well with pretty much any hairstyle. The multi-loop band can be a fun pretty way to keep hair out of your face or a very elegant accessory. These pieces are especially big in metallic, and will go well with a braided sandal come spring.
