Rihanna wants message from dead grandmother

Rihanna has been pleading for her dead grandmother to contact her from beyond the grave.

The 'Rude Boy' singer has been rocked by the loss of her beloved grandparent Clara 'Dolly' Braithwaite on June 30, and is hoping she will send her some sort of message from the afterlife to let her know she is still watching over her.

Referring to her by her nickname, she tweeted: "I wish u were here ... Got so many questions and you always had answers #grangranDOLLY

"Send a message in the wind or something please #grangranDOLLY (sic)"

Rihanna is reported to be spending time with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown in the South of France and her desire to speak to 'Dolly' could come from her need for advice on whether she should get involved again with the man who brutally assaulted in February 2009.


Rihanna cancelled her appearance at the Rock In Rio festival in Madrid, Spain, and flew back to her native Barbados to be with her mother Monica after the death of her grandmother.

She then attended both funeral services held for Clara, one in New York and another in Barbados.

Rihanna frequently talks to her passed grandparent directly in her tweets, paying tribute after her passing by writing: "Goodbye grangranDolly get your beauty rest until I see you. grangranDolly that is all. (sic)"

Before her Barbados funeral, she wrote: "grangranDolly time for your party in Barbados. (sic)"

Rihanna has become increasingly spiritual in her tweets since 'Dolly' died, writing yesterday: "I put it all in Your hands!!! I love my Creator!!!! #1Love #1Life (sic)."

She has also retweeted a post by Spiritual Truths, hinting at her love life: "Love is calling you, the happiness you seek is written within the heart, take notice of your feelings & find your way home."

RIHANNA THINKS YOU SHOULD ALL GET OVER IT

Does she have a point or is she really just being callous about it all?

 In a recent interview with Esquire magazine, Rihanna went absolutely manic toward the reporter when questioned about working with Chris Brown with the remixes to “Birthday Cake” (from her album, “Talk That Talk”) and “Turn Up The Music” (from his album, “Fortune”) following the 2009 attack that took place on the evening before the Grammys. Yes, you know the one.

 While many fans and entertainment people questioned if Ri-Ri was officially off her rocker, she sees it as something we needed to get over:

That’s how f*cked up society is. There’s a lot of sh*t y’all can’t get over. Y’all holding your breath on a lot of stuff that doesn’t matter. When you realize who you live for, and who’s important to please, a lot of people will actually start living. I am never going to get caught up in that. I’m not here to [talk] about messy sh*t.

I suppose we’re in the wrong for wanting to defend a woman who was in an abusive relationship and worrying that she may actually go back to her attacker.

Rihanna Are Deadly Ninjas In 'Princess Of China' Video

Coldplay and Rihanna have been teasing their "Princess of China" video for a while now. On Saturday (June 2), the clip leaked ahead of its scheduled Monday release date.

 The trippy video is full of surreal images that play on the song's references to Asia, with Chris Martin and Rihanna donning all sorts of ninja and ninja-goddess couture. A desert, the sky and some ancient-looking Chinese palaces all serve as backgrounds. Martin and Rih Rih also do some sword-wielding and ninja kicks, for good measure.
In more emotional parts of the clip, Rihanna and Martin, playing star-crossed lovers, kneel in the desert, forehead to forehead, as they mourn the loss of their love. But the moving image soon turns violent as they float through the air and partake in a ninja battle. Much like the characters in the song, the onscreen characters are torn up about their dying love. 

And while the love story is at the center of the clip, Rihanna's look is also a standout as she appears in several forms: multi-armed goddess, heartbroken geisha and fierce warrior princess. The official June 4 release date had been pushed back from May before leaking to the Net on Saturday, the same day Rihanna dropped some behind-the-scenes photos on Facebook. 

In the images, her hair is done up in a geisha bun and she wears long, fringe earrings. They're similar to shots she released back in March from the video shoot. "Her bit on our record is my favorite bit," the Coldplay frontman told MTV News last fall about Rihanna's feature on Mylo Xyloto. "When the song came out, it sort of asked for her to be on it. And I think at this point, we have nothing to lose, and so we've been trying some new things and trying to break down the perceived boundaries between different types of music."

Rihanna, Brooklyn Decker and Liam Neeson will explode on the screen in 'Battleship' on Friday

"Battleship" hits theaters on Friday with guns and actresses blazing. Alongside established actors like Liam Neeson and Taylor Kitsch, the board game-turned-movie with an estimated $200 million budget stars super model Brooklyn Decker and singer Rihanna, who is making her acting debut.

 While they might be relative newcomers on the big screen, these two ladies are certainly used to the spotlight, which made casting them easy for director Peter Berg.

 “Rihanna obviously has tremendous charisma,” says Berg, 48, “and Brooklyn is an all-American beauty who has something going on in between the ears. She’s a smart girl.”
Decker, 25, transitioned from modeling to acting with various small television roles in 2009. But her big break came when she starred alongside Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston in the 2011 rom-com “Just Go With It.”

 Her second and third movies will both be released on the same day when “Battleship” and “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” premiere on May 18.

 Berg was impressed by Decker.

 “When a lot of other girls her age were doing God knows what, she married Andy Roddick and made a home for herself,” he said. “She’s a thinking woman who doesn’t take herself overly seriously and is determined to try and do what girls like Cameron Diaz and Charlize Theron have been able to do.”

 As for Rihanna, 24, Berg jumped at the chance to be her first director, citing his work with Tim McGraw in “Friday Night Lights” as inspiration.

 “She came in with just a pair of jeans, a T-shirt, flip flops, her hair back in a ponytail, no makeup, looking very real, and she just started improvising,” he said. “She had no entourage. She was very professional — first one to work every day, the last one to leave. That girl had such a great work ethic. I said to people, ‘If it was easy musically, there’d be a lot of Rihannas. There’s not.’”

 There also aren’t a lot of board games turned into movies, but Berg is hoping his leading ladies make “Battleship” a success.

 “If you have the opportunity to see these beautiful, smart, hot women on a ship, you should take advantage of it,” he said. “It’s amazing.”

Rihanna’s Friends Urging Her to Go to Rehab

Radar Online reports that Rihanna's friends hope that the pop star puts a stop to her partying and heads to rehab. Her friends say, "She's actually a very lonely girl … she gets fed up with sitting in her hotel room, so she goes out drinking." "When Chris got the tattoo, Rihanna freaked out. She's been obsessed with the thought that he's going to marry Karrueche and she'll never be able to get back with him. Rihanna goes topless in waterfall shot

Rihanna is titillating fans with her latest vacation snapshots - waving her bikini top in the air while posing under a waterfall.

The provocative R&B star posted photos from her Hawaiian vacation in January on her Facebook.com page on Monday night and one joyful snap is particularly fetching.

Wearing a tiny swimsuit in most of the shots, she teases in one by ripping off her top and holding it over her head, while covering her breasts with her other arm.In other shots, the We Found Love singer poses provocatively on a sun lounger and on the beach.

Rihanna brings a slice of Tokyo style to Sydney

She has been in Tokyo for almost two weeks and Rihanna has clearly been inspired by Japan's forward-thinking ways.

However the time has come for Rihanna to leave the region that propelled her into dyeing her hair back to black and even giving some of her locks the chop.

Today the singer posted a tribute picture to the area by showing off a T-shirt she was wearing by Trapstar, a brand whose website she regularly features on for donning their clothes.The 24-year-old drew attention to the dragon motif on the back of her monochrome design, a reference to the diverse legendary creatures which often feature in Japanese mythology and folklore.

Rihanna – whose real name is Robyn Fenty – posed in front of a vast landscape high rise buildings in Tokyo where she has been staying.

Moving her fresh hairstyle over to the front of her body, she teamed the ensemble up with a dark bandana and gold chain choker with similar colour hoop earrings.

She simply captioned the snap: ‘Good bye Japan.’

Her full outfit was revealed as she arrived at the airport to jet off to her next location, the busy performer’s ensemble was seen in its entirety as she entered the terminal building, showing off her legs in a sheer maxi skirt and lace-up flat shoes.

She threw on a checked bomber jacket with the initial ‘A’ on the left breast as she prepared to board the aircraft.

Rihanna has body worries

Rihanna isn't completely happy with her body.

Despite being widely regarded as one of the world's most beautiful women, the 24-year-old-old singer admits she has insecurities about her figure like all ladies but she has learnt to love her shape and be proud of herself.

During an interview on UK TV show 'Daybreak', she said: 'I mean I don't think anybody really is 100 per cent. I mean you get comfortable with the fact that that's your body and that is what it is - that I had to learn. (Some days) I'm like, 'OK, whatever, I feel fat today,' but what can you really do about it? You have to just accept your body. You may not love it all the way, but you just have to be comfortable with it, comfortable with knowing that that's your body. You just want something else that someone else has, but that doesn't mean what you have isn't beautiful, because people always want what you have, and you always want what they have - no one is ever 100 per cent like, 'Yes, I'm the bomb dot com - from head to toe!' '

Rihanna has made the switch from music to acting and appears in upcoming blockbuster 'Battleship' - which also stars Taylor Kitsch and Alexander Skarsgard.

The 'You Da One' hitmaker really enjoyed shooting the film but admits she was nervous before starting because of her lack of experience.

Speaking about the movie - in which she plays weapons specialist Cora Raikes - she said: 'It was nerve-racking really, scary to go into something so new and not really knowing what to expect or what to do. It was a learning experience so at the same time I had to pull off the part, but it was also brand new for me. But I just had to focus and get it done, there was no thinking about it ... I'm very competitive with myself and I take that through my career. I want to get better every time - the next step always has to be upwards. I guess I'm relentless in that way when it comes to my work. I don't ever give up or I feel guilty stopping for a little bit, but sometimes it's good to stop.'

Rihanna tops 15 million UK record sales

Rihanna has sold over 15 million records in the UK, figures have revealed.

The singer reached the impressive milestone this month, after shifting five million units of albums Loud and Talk That Talk in the last 12 months.

"Selling 15 million records in the UK is a remarkable achievement," Mercury Music Group president Jason Iley told Music Week.

"Rihanna's only 24 and I have no doubt she'll sell another 15 million records in the near future. It's not about speed, it's about longevity, and Rihanna has a long career ahead of her."

Rihanna released her debut album Music of the Sun in the UK seven years ago, and five of her six subsequent records have achieved multi-platinum status.

The star is credited as the only female artist to have had a number one single in five consecutive years in the UK, and to date has totalled six chart-topping singles and three number one albums.Illey added: "From the start Rihanna and her team have treated the UK like home. She's totally embraced Britain - right down to our public transport systems.

"Her work ethic is incredible. She understands the label, as well as the promotional opportunities that we've created."

Rihanna recently insisted that she will release a collaboration with friend Katy Perry, adding: "We are still trying to make a song together."

Looking edgy as she stepped out in NYC, Rihanna was spotted leaving her Big Apple hotel on Tuesday night (March 13).

Rihanna's raunchy dance for U.K. TV host

Rihanna left U.K. TV presenter Jonathan Ross red-faced after dancing suggestively for him on his hit talk show.Rihanna walked off the performance stage while singing her track Talk That Talk on The Jonathan Ross Show and strutted over to the host's desk to show off her sexy moves.

The R&B star, clad in a miniskirt, gyrated her hips and bent over while Ross jokingly covered his eyes with his hands. Earlier in the show, which aired in the U.K. on Saturday (03Mar12), Rihanna defended her racy dancing as part of her Barbadian culture.

She told Ross, "I don't really ever notice it, or think about it, until the feedback. Rihanna to fans, critics: no regrets !

Rihanna has no regrets following her now controversial decision to collaborate with Chris Brown on two songs, released last week. Telling fans "no regrets," in a series of social media messages Saturday, Rihanna claims there is "no sense in becoming burdened".

"Regret is ruining the lives of countless people by stealing their joy! #NOREGRETS Sure u wish u did some things differently, but no sense in becoming burdened with regret over things u have no power to change #NOREGRETS," Rihanna wrote on Twitter.

As reported last week, Rihanna joined Chris Brown on a remix to his single "Turn Up The Music" and he joined her on the remix to her single, "Birthday Cake". Following criticism over the single, Chris Brown slammed critics saying they have no right to judge him and Rihanna.

"You are not Gods to judge us," said Brown.

For the first time since the release of both songs, it seems Rihanna is feeling the pressure of fans and critics but claims after asking God forgiveness, you "leave your regrets in the past".

"Ask God for forgiveness, and leave your regrets in the past! #NOREGRETS," said Rihanna.

In related news, Rihanna has begun working on her Sky Living show, slated to air in the UK. Over the weekend she confirmed that work had begun, telling a fan "exec producing a tv show today in London". Hosted by Nicola Roberts the fashion based show will focus on finding a top designer.

Rihanna backlash should focus on Chris Brown

On the eve of the Grammys in 2009, when news surfaced that singer Chris Brown assaulted his girlfriend, Rihanna, the cruel reality of violence against women came to the forefront. Police reports, narrative accounts and photographs told a chilling tale of what happened that night.

In the ensuing months, Rihanna's responses to the violence she received faced public scrutiny. Everyone hoped that she would do what most of us believed was the right thing to do: Leave the relationship. When she did eventually leave, there was a collective admiration for her ability to move on, which sent a clear message that violence against women is wrong.She was lauded as a role model to women and young girls, and became a celebrity symbol of strength and survivorship.

Rihanna is collaborating with Brown again. Some people are mad and disapprove of her decision to let Brown back into her life, especially given the "role model" status that had been assigned to her. Personally, I am not outraged. Before you think I'm a fan of Brown (I'm not), here's my rationale: Rihanna did not ask to be a role model, no more than she asked to be abused.

In the United States, one in three women experiences violence. Rihanna is unfortunately one of these women. Like other abused women, she is being judged unfairly for her relationship with her abusive former partner.

One of the first things people ask after learning that a woman has been abused is, "Why don't you just leave?" While this is a seemingly innocuous suggestion, it really isn't that simple. When a woman leaves and then returns to her partner or tries to stay on amicable terms, she can elicit a backlash. No wonder some people have commented that Rihanna must "enjoy being abused."

I don't know anyone who enjoys being abused. What I do know is that domestic violence is a vicious cycle. Leaving an abusive partner is a process that can take months, if not years. One woman I know stayed in her relationship for almost 25 years before she was able to finally leave.

Moreover, most women leave their partners more than once. Studies have indicated that a woman leaves her abuser an average of eight times before leaving permanently. We cannot be certain, but it is possible that Rihanna is still in the process of leaving. Thus, the fact that she and Brown are working together now after the incident of three years ago is not surprising
